Assignment #4: Due September 17th




The picture above is an image of a political cartoon from the Civil War. Your assignment is to look very carefully at the above cartoon and answer the following questions in a post.

1. What does the cartoon describe about the Civil War?
2. What is the point of the toen newspaper?
3. What does it mean by "family quarrel" and what does that have to do with the Civil War?

We will discuss your answers in class. These are your thoughts and opinions. Remember to be mindful of others opinions.

Assignment #3: Due September 15th

This week in class we will be finishing up the Civil War unit. We will be focusing on the Battle of Gettysburg.

Your assignment is to find three facts about the battle and post them here. Make sure you read everyones post. You may not post the same fact as someone else. Get creative in your research, but make sure you only use factual information. We will discuss your answers in class. If you have any questions comment below.

Assignment #2: Due September 2nd

Why was the Civil War fought? Was it just over slavery? Many believe the Civil War was fought only over the issue of slavery.

After completing your readings and participating in our discussions in class, you should have a better understanding of the questions. Your assignment is to answer these two questions using only facts and details.

Post your answers here and we will discuss them in class. Remember to support your opinions with actual facts.

Assignment #1: Due August 20th

For your first assignment you will need to write a one page paper, can be typed or handwritten, about one person, event, or place in U.S. History that you would like to learn about this semester. Make sure you support your answer with facts and details. Be sure to explain the why! If you have any questions feel free to ask in a comment. This assignment is due the beginnning of class Friday, August 20th.

Wilson's Creek National Battlefield Field Trip

This year we will taking field trip to Wilson's Creek National Battlefield on September 10th. We will depart from the high school at 8:30a.m. and will return around 2:00p.m. Students must have permission forms turned in by September 02nd. Parents are more than welcome to join just note it on the permission form or comment below. If you have any questions regarding the trip, feel free to ask below or email me.
